A day trip to the Island is far easier than you might expect

It takes just 90 minutes by train from London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour and then 20 minutes over to the Island by ferry.
A stroll or ride down the Victorian pier will bring you to the Esplanade.

By car it is easiest to drive to Southsea in Portsmouth and "fly" over on the hovercraft which takes 10 minutes to the Esplanade.

Either way we are a 5 minute stroll up through the town, past its unique shops and wine bars.
